This is the brick that Amy's children gave her last year. This brick sidewalk leads up to the Chapel on the campus of Gil St. Bernard where she and David teach. (FYI: These bricks are NOT cheap!) It is such an honor to have one given in your name.
The "because we knew you" line comes from a song that is the choir's ending piece at every concert. All who have ever sung it with Amy are invited to join the choir for this special piece. Every year, more and more come back to sing it, saying that the last time they sang it as choir members they were crying too hard to really sing.
I was fortunate enough to get to go to the spring concert last week. It was incredible! I recorded it this year at the end of the concert and was so proud of myself; only to find out that I had recorded it on a camera that neither my computer at home or at work recognizes the video format! So sad!
Determined not to be outdone, I found this link of a young girl about the age of Amy's children, singing it. Listen to the words.............they are SO beautiful..................(kinda like the one who thought to put it at the end of every concert she does)
