Relaxing before bathtime

October 26, 2009Maddox and Lucy don't get to play with these magnetic letter and numbers too often.
Mom keeps them safely tucked away, because both babies tend to want to "taste" them.

They are definitely doing better; it is a great fun thing for them to play and a wonderful way to slow down a bit before bathtime and bedtime.

Ring-around-the-rosie

October 26, 2009Good grief! What am I gonna do?
Tonight Mom was so excited that BOTH babies could do Ring-around-the-rosie with her (until then, they couldn't understand how to hold each other's hands, so you had to do first with one and then the other). Only problem: they get to the "all fall down" part before it's really time.
When they both fell down early, Mom was caught off guard and went down with them!
They thought it was the best fun they'd ever had; I was scared to death!
Tough little Mom just laughed with them and brushed herself off.......she did decide not to play that game any more! At 88, you can only push your luck so far.

Glow in the dark

October 26, 2009You can't tell how dark it is because of the flash on the camera, but trust me, it was DARK!
Mom had shown Maddox how to use her flashlight.
What fun he had, shining it everywhere in the dark bedroom.
Mom is mad that she didn't think to take him outside, but not to worry: she's out buying Lucy her own flashlight too and the next night that she has a chance, you can bet she'll have both of them outside shining flashlights up into the trees.

"You've come a long way, baby!"

October 25, 2009 Michael got home from Korea today and look what he brought with him!
Yep! This little fellow kinda took up with their family in Korea and Michael just couldn't leave him! Michael and Courtney had gone to Red Lobster for dinner and I was at their house with Ella and Sterling. I had missed my new little friend and went looking for him. This is where I found him! In Michael's suitcase............you'd think after a 15 hour plane ride he'd be ready to be OUT of a suitcase, wouldn't you?

Love that corn on the cob!

October 24, 2009Um-um
Good!

It is SO nice to see both babies eating well again. We've all had a bout with a stomach bug.
That'll slow you down...............thank goodness (fingers crossed!), it's over for us.

Growing TOO fast!

October 24, 2009Lucy is beginning to look as big as she thinks she is!

Up close and CUTE!

Lickin' beaters

October 24, 2009It's been a few years since I've had to share beaters with anyone, but looks like my time is up, huh?
Lucy would have NONE of it, but my boy took to it like a pro!
He had a hard time understanding that I only had two beaters.
He wanted "more, more!"

Ready to go

October 24, 2009Today the Renaissance Faire is in Wilson Park. Lucy, Maddox and I walked there and enjoyed all the festivities before ending up at Trowbridge's where we shared a big dish of ice cream.

Counting baby's fingers and toes

October 24, 2009
One, two, three, four, FIVE!.......x 4; this morning's favorite game with Mom.

Joined at the hip

October 20, 2009Lucy wants to be as close to her brother as she can. She has taken to going to sit in his lap on the bean bag when she can get away with it. Maddox is patient for a bit, then off she goes! For that short time she gets to sit there, she is one happy little girl!

Dragon bee?

October 20, 2009
Bound for Lucy! Becky says this is her favorite costume...........a mix of her bee and Maddox's dragon! Have we mentioned how utterly goofy this girl is?

Halloween bee

October 20, 2009
Becky spent a cold and rainy morning trying on the babies' Halloween costumes. This is part of Lucy's bee costume.

Scary dragon? NOT!

October 20, 2009

I don't think I've ever seen a cuter dragon; have you?

Fun at the Marriott playground

October 19, 2009 After naps, it was off to the Marriott playground.
Little bubble girl.

Peep pie!

All we have to do is mention slide and all the babies start saying "Whee"!

One, two, three...................GO!

.....or not!
Sometimes we have to sit and look pretty for a minute.

Oh, me! The boys have discovered the bar above the slides.

"And that's how big boys slide!"

Best buddies............

"Ring around the Rosey......"

.........."all fall down!"
Their favorite part!
(Lucy was on the slide, counting down her 1, 2, 3, go when I heard the others singing Ring Around The Rosey............couldn't get there in time. She also loves it!) We'll catch her the next time.

Wishin' and hopin'
Sorry, boys...............it's a little too cool today for splash pad.

Picking just the right flower............

....to give to his best girl friend!
(Sisters don't count)

"Sterling, come on.............time to go home!"
Ella constantly takes care of Sterling, and as little as Lucy is, she does the same for Maddox.

Halloween cookies

October 19, 2009Today Ella's great wish came true: Kate and Sarah came over to play!
Kaitlyn helps Courtney out on Monday mornings, so while Courtney and I unpacked, Kaitlyn took care of all SIX children! Can you believe she suggested baking and decorating cookies?

The kids loved it!
She worked with the girls first, then put the 2 baby girls in high chairs while she worked with the boys.

The girls.....enjoying their cookies.

"Good
cookies!" says Maddox.

"Yum-yum!"

Messy, but good.

Fall Festival

October 17, 2009Cotton candy!
(None for Miss Priss.....she thinks she'll stick with craisins!)
Going for a "train" ride with two little pumpkins!

Lucy not sure at all, but if Grammy and Maddox are there, she's OK.

"Let's pretend....."

October 17, 2009 A shiek? A princess? A bride?
Who knows what this crazy girl is thinking.
One thing she knows for sure: she is special!
She and Mom think up the funniest dress-ups!
This was her morning attire; she paraded around for the longest like this.
Towel fall off the head? No worries.....she adjusted it back again and again.

Bathing Beauty

October 16, 2009Fresh from her bath
..being tenderly dried by her favorite Mom

Too cute!

Strike Up the Band!

October 16, 2009Every boy knows that you must be seated on the curb before the parade can begin!
We've certainly made believers of these two: Sterling, on left and Maddox, right.
They could be the twins, huh?
Everyone in the parade gets a wave!

.....and many get applause!

Waiting for candy.....or motorcycles, equally good, both.

"Look, Maddox! Here comes a motorcycle!"

Got candy!

"There goes the last band."
Time for a little playground time.

Add Ella and the teeter totter is almost full.
Baby Lucy missed the parade; she was at home with her Mama, fast asleep.
