Let's watch a parade!

October 3, 2009
Today Courtney and I walked the babies to town to see the UNA Homecoming Parade.
We met Eira and her granddaughters, Sarah and Kate.
Ella, Sterling, Kate ("Cake"), Sarah, Lucy and Maddox
Little Lulu, not real sure about all this activity.

Maddox, Sterling and Ella
All the children LOVED the parade. These babies were content for a bit to watch the parade from their strollers. However, when the candy started being thrown, they felt like they needed to help Sarah and Kate gather it. They did very well; we told them that candy was only thrown to boys and girls who sat on the curb and waved......so sit and wave they did! Everyone but Maddox ran, ran, ran to gather as much candy as they could to put in the bag. Not my boy! He ran out and got ONE piece and ran straight back to the curb to sit and eat it! None of this "putting in the bag" for him!
We laughed that they will think on Halloween all they have to do to get candy is wave!
Ella especially loved Kate and Sarah............it was as if she had finally found some girls her age to play with. After the parade we took Subway sandwiches to the picnic tables at Trinity Church for a picnic. Ella has talked about playing with "Cake" (which has come to mean both Sarah and KATE) ever since. We must arrange another play date with them!
